CO2 capture

SUK’s  over the past 25 years has been at the forefront of developing novel environmental applications based on novel membrane technologies. In the field of global warming, SUK in cooperation with the National Research Center Demokritos (project CArbon Dioxide CApture using a novel hybrid MEmbrane/Sorption System, Proposal Acronym: CAMES project CAMES) has developed a “next-generation” hybrid ionic liquid membrane/VTSA CO2 capture system, depicted below.


Waste water treatment, desalination

 EPET II NANOMEM, , coordinated by ECOTECH on developing novel  nanostructured membranes in integrated desalination system combining a membrane distillation/membrane crystallization MD/MCr) unit with nanofiltration (NF) operating at lower pressures and higher efficiency in comparison with traditional reverse osmosis systems.





Pervaporation unit to treat waste water, developed by SUK and installed in the waste water treatment plant of SUK.
